Volunteers’ Week 2009
Following our successful “Celebrating Volunteering Event” last year the City Council and Nottingham Council for Voluntary Service have joined forces again to plan this years national 25th Volunteers’ Week anniversary in Nottingham.
Last year many local community and voluntary organisations were able to showcase their work and recruit new volunteers – over 320 in just 6 hours!
This year’s event will take place in Market Square on Saturday 6 June, 10am – 4pm.
Want to promote, recruit and celebrate volunteering in the heart of Nottingham? Find out more about getting a stall at the event. You’ve got to be quick though, last year was very popular!
Recruit Volunteers through the Evening Post
Tanya Holden from the Nottingham Evening Post is looking for stories about volunteering and how it has changed the volunteer’s life. Has the volunteer as a result of volunteering found employment, improved their confidence, their health, met the love of their life? If so Tanya is keen to hear from such volunteers.
Tanya can also promote your volunteering events / meetings by mentioning them in the Post and can also arrange a photographer to cover your volunteering events. She can be contacted on tanya.holden@nottinghameveningpost.co.uk
This is a fantastic way of getting free publicity that is Nottingham citywide.
